One of the best way to escape the heat and crowd in Jonker Walk? Just walk over to Backlane Coffee!
It is a peaceful and spacious air-conditioned cafe tuck in a relatively hidden (backlane) in the thick of Jonker Walk. A haven after a hot and tiring day.
Iced Latte – RM 12 ($4 SGD) if I remember correctly
It was light and overall ok, nothing really special or memorable. (My wife drinks a lot of different types of coffee.)
Hawaiian Pizza – 25 RM ($8 SGD) if I remember correctly
It was really so-so quality, would definitely skip this if I visit this cafe again. As there are many cakes and desserts to try next.
Conclusion: The pizza maybe so-so, iced latte is ok. BUT the cafe is an awesome place to rest and chillout after a long day walking around Jonker.
It is more towards those quieter cafe settings, seating areas are been positioned with more spacious interval layout, and with various furniture to suit your seating taste.
I forgot to take interior photos, but trust me (or just google for other reviews of this cafe) on it. The overall cafe theme is vintage if based on the decor.
Overall food they serves there are very Western/American: Hot/iced coffees, all day breakfast, cakes, desserts, and pizzas.
I would visit there whenever I go Jonker again, but definitely will skip the pizza, and give a try to their cakes and desserts.
